MikeC started writing secular rap music since high school but after a few life changing events, he began focusing his efforts towards sharing and spreading the glory of God through music ministry.
"My parents raised me well, I never put any blame on them for the poor decisions I made in my life. At the time, I was selfish and I had no understanding of my faith, I would attend church once in a while but I could never truly get a grasp of what it was all about, it felt like a routine to me without any meaning. Sin got strong in my adolescent age and Satan picked up the scent of my weaknesses that could turn me away from God. I had some ups and downs through my college years and my relationship with God and the knowledge of my Catholic faith was not yet strong. I graduated, found a job, got married and started a family, and certain situations occurred in between these events of my life that led me to question my faith and eventually strengthened my relationship with God."
"My main focus now is my family and, as being the head of the household, preventing Satan from pulling us apart. Joshua 24:15 is a great inspirational verse to me as a father: 'As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.' We've made the commitment of attending Mass and surrounding ourselves with Christ and teaching our children to know, love and serve God. There will be many ups and downs in our lives, but I know we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13)."
Though hanging out with the wrong crowd in the past, he accepts the blame for the poor choices he made. "I thank the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who guided me back to the flock and away from the wolves. My mother had told me she would pray for me always, and I thank her for those prayers because I believe that is what kept me from really hurting myself or others."
In regards to some of the major faith changing episodes in his life, "Although we almost lost our son to a severe fever seizure, God was with us, my son fully recovered and I hold him close to my heart. My wife miscarried but we have confidence and trust that our little angel, by the Grace of God, is with Him in heaven and the Lord consoled our hearts by blessing us with two more beautiful children. I leave with you another verse that helps me get through the struggles, doubts and worries we face in life: 'For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.' (Jer. 29:11)"
